About Panda

Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)

Our centre program is based on the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) which is play based learning and the recommended framework from birth and transition to school years.

The EYLF is a framework for early childhood education that guides educators in developing quality, educational programmes. Bringing consistency to the delivery of learning across the country, it is designed to enhance learning from birth to five, developing a foundation for learning as well as help in a child’s transition into school. The EYLF is not a curriculum, so it does not provide centres with a detailed syllabus, instead it is a framework that consists of concepts, principles and outcomes.

Our Educators

Our educators respect cultural diversity of families in our community. The relationships created by educators with children and families have a major role on children’s involvement and success in learning.

At Panda, we carefully select only professionally trained and qualified educators. Ongoing training of staff forms an integral part of our service to ensure the continuous delivery of highest standards’ of child care.

Our Philosophy

Our team is caring and passionate about early childhood education and aim to provide a warm, safe, homely, stimulating, and healthy environment where each child is inspired and nurtured. Our educators understand the importance of relationships in early childhood. We value diversity at our centre and in our community, and we strive to include cultural events, traditions, values, and beliefs within our programs.

We aim to build and maintain an ongoing strong, trustworthy and positive relationship with each child and family. We encourage families to give us feedback about their children’s development, which we utilise as part of the programs that we prepare for their children. Also, we strive to create an inclusive environment through valuing and celebrating each individual who enters the centre respecting their unique qualities and diverse backgrounds.

We support a play-based approach and believe that play is an integral part of a child’s life where they can explore, experiment, discover and solve problems in imaginative and playful way which is fundamental in discovering children’s interests and abilities. Every child should be given the opportunity to play outdoors, playing outside allows children to engage with the natural world, fostering curiosity, independence, and a sense of wonder. Through exploration and adventure, they develop a deeper connection to their environment and an innate appreciation for the beauty of existence. We align with the five learning principles of the Early Years Framework which are:

  • children have a strong sense of identity
  • children are connected with and contribute to their world
  • children have a strong sense of wellbeing
  • children are confident and involved learners
  • children are effective communicators

The curriculum is built on each child’s present knowledge, culture, abilities, and interests, and each child’s learning and progress documentation is made available to families.

Every child’s agency is promoted, enabling them to make choices and decisions and influence events and their world, therefore children are active participants in their learning.
